Drinking a Glass of Wine a Day Increases Cancer Risk

Scientists from the University of Tokyo, Harvard University and Kanto Rosai Hospital (Japan) have found that the daily consumption of small amounts of alcohol increases the risk of cancer. The study results show that the disease can manifest itself if you drink two glasses a day for 5 years.

By completely avoiding alcohol, the risk of cancer can be reduced to a minimum. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (USA), all alcoholic beverages are associated with cancer, including those that are considered healthy, such as white and red wine. Experts say that people who drink alcohol are more likely to have cancers of the mouth and throat, esophagus, liver, breast, and colorectal cancer. When alcohol is consumed, the body produces a toxic chemical called acetaldehyde.

It disrupts the structure of DNA and hormones, this provokes abnormal cell division. Alcoholic beverages cause cancer in women by increasing estrogen levels. Researchers believe that increased hormone levels are the main factor in the development of breast cancer and other hormone-sensitive forms of oncology.
