Apple may be forced to change its technical standards to produce less waste in an environmentally friendly manner. At the very least, this will affect products sold in the EU.
The thing is that the leadership of the European Union intends to ensure that from next year all smartphones sold on the territory of the block are produced with a standard USB-C connector for charging.
As you know, since 2012, Apple has been using a special Lightning connector in the production of the iPhone. The latest models of Apple smartphones come with adapters from "Lightning" to "USB-C", and the corporation itself now claims that it is the transition to a common standard that will generate a mountain of waste in the form of unnecessary Lightning cables.
