New York City: All Municipal Employees Must Be Vaccinated

By order of Mayor Bill de Blasio, all municipal employees in New York will need to show proof of vaccination against the new coronavirus pneumonia to be admitted to work.

Starting from October 29, those who cannot present a document of the appropriate content will not be allowed to perform their direct work duties. Unvaccinated employees will not be fired, but sent on unpaid leave.

As an incentive, those who receive the first dose of the vaccine by October 29 will be eligible for a $ 500 bonus.

One of the first to oppose the innovation was the police union, which promised to challenge the mayor's decision in court, although 466 people died from complications of coronavirus pneumonia among the employees of the New York Police Department.

Now vaccinated with at least one dose was about 71% of the 160 thousand municipal employees in New York.
