The number of jobs in private US companies in October increased by 571 thousand, follows from a press release from the analytical company Automatic Data Processing (ADP). Analysts polled by the DailyFX portal expected the indicator to grow by 400 thousand.
The September figure was revised up to an increase of 523 thousand from an increase of 568 thousand. In particular, in the field of small business in the United States, the number of jobs in October increased by 115 thousand, in medium-sized companies with a staff of 50-499 people - by 114 thousand, and large companies increased their staff by 342 thousand jobs.
In the sectoral context - in the service sector, the number of jobs increased by 458 thousand, in the sector of goods production - by 113 thousand. At the same time, the figure for private construction companies in the country in October increased by 54 thousand, in the industrial sector - by 53 thousand, in the natural resource extraction sector - by 6 thousand.
"The services sector has emerged as the leader in growth, and the increase in the manufacturing of goods ... was the highest in a year. Large companies contributed to the recovery (number of jobs - ed.) In October," said Nela Richardson, chief economist at ADP.
