The rates for new cases of coronavirus pneumonia at the level of local transmission of infection were for the People's Republic of China the highest in the previous three months.
The National Health Commission today announced the identification of 93 new symptomatic local infections in the previous 24 hours, the highest daily increase since August 9 this year. For comparison, the previous day there were 54 such cases.
Beijing reported nine new localized transmissions, the largest daily increase for the capital city this year.
It is expected that in the very near future, citizens will be informed of new quarantine restrictions aimed at curbing the spread of the disease. Beijing has already called on the population to limit participation in public events and to refrain from traveling. Beijing Daxing International Airport canceled 60.4% and Beijing Capital International Airport 49.8% of flights scheduled for today.
