The film was directed by Ben Affleck, who directed Operation Argo, City of Thieves, Goodbye Baby Goodbye, and Law of the Night. He also played the lead role of Nike co-founder Phil Knight.
The marketer Sonny Vaccaro was played by Matt Damon, known for his roles in the films Ford v Ferrari, The Martian, The Departed, Good Will Hunting, and others. The cast also included Jason Bateman, Chris Tucker, and Marlon Wayans.
