Europe faces record gas price increases

In European countries, the gas price has risen at a record time since mid-January of this year 2021, the Izvestia newspaper writes. Now the cost of one thousand cubic meters of gas has increased to $ 286 (this is about 21.5 thousand rubles).

It is explained that such an increase in prices for "blue fuel" occurs against the background of a decrease in the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the region. For the current week - from April 26 to May 2 - its deliveries fell by 8% in comparison with the previous days in April.

In this regard, the level of gas supply to underground storage facilities (UGS) has also dropped.

The newspaper explains that on the day of delivery to UGS facilities, they are replenished by no more than 0.1%. This is taking place against the backdrop of the gas deficit in European storage facilities that manifested itself back in the winter.
